Wayne Memorial Community Health Centers (WMCHC) is seeking a Medical Secretary to join the team at our Lake Region Walk-In Clinic. The role focuses on delivering outstanding patient care while efficiently managing the administrative and operational tasks of the medical office.WMCHC’s MissionWayne Memorial Community Health Centers creates and sustains healthy rural communities by providing accessible, high quality medical, dental, and behavioral health care for all, while recognizing and addressing other factors that influence health outcomes.Job Responsibilities:Greeting customers in-person and handling in-bound and out-bound phone callsAssisting patients needs by creating a safe environmentScheduling visits and documenting appointment details accurately and appropriatelyReviewing and capturing patients’ insurance cards, driver’s license, and other applicable information in accordance with procedures, as well as completing patient registration and appropriate consentsCompleting registration along with annual formsHandling all documentation and patients records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) systemReporting to appropriate clinical team members on patients’ questions and careScheduling follow-up appointments and completing return ordersFacilitate scheduling of appointments with other providers to include, but not limited to testing facilities, hospitals, specialists, etc.Monitor and coordinate daily schedules, verifying appointments, contacting patients, and filling scheduling gapsScanning all reports, records, and other documents in patients chart using an appropriate and confidential mannerMaintains petty cash log and ensure logs are delivered to the billing department as directedMaintains familiarity with financial assistance programs as applicableChecks correspondence and messages dailyOther duties as assignedMinimum QualificationsEffective communication skillsBasic mathematic and typing skillsMedical terminologyWord processingPrior secretarial or administrative experience, and/or education preferredBenefits:Medical, Dental, VisionLife InsuranceShort-Term DisabilityLong-Term DisabilityGenerous Paid Time Off (PTO)403 (b) Retirement Plan Matching #J-18808-Ljbffr
