Home Depot Southern Division Sales Manager

The Plant Company | Remote within the Southern Division territory

Full-time | $115,000–$150,000 annually + bonus plan | Approximately 30–40% travel

The Plant Company (TPC) is looking for an experienced retail sales professional to lead our Home Depot sales execution across the Southern Division.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the National Sales Director, you’ll build relationships with Home Depot division and field leadership, visit stores regularly, and identify opportunities to improve sales, sell-through, merchandising, and customer satisfaction.

You’ll work closely with our merchandising, inventory, product, replenishment, and operations teams to connect customer priorities with product availability and store-level execution. This role calls for someone who can build trust, interpret data, and follow through on practical solutions.

What You’ll Do

• Execute divisional sales plans that support revenue, margin, volume, and customer-service goals.
• Build relationships with Home Depot buyers, regional and district leaders, and store managers.
• Visit stores to assess product presentation, inventory condition, and program execution.
• Use sales, point-of-sale, sell-through, and inventory data to identify opportunities and address performance gaps.
• Partner with merchandising and replenishment teams to improve availability, reduce excess inventory, and support seasonal and promotional demand.
• Communicate customer feedback, forecasts, risks, and recommended actions to internal partners.
• Identify opportunities to expand assortments, programs, and store participation in alignment with TPC’s national strategy.

What You’ll Bring

• At least five years of account management or sales experience supporting large retail, national, or regional accounts.
• Strong relationship-building skills and an understanding of big-box or mass-merchant retail.
• The ability to translate sales and inventory data into clear actions.
• Working knowledge of merchandising, assortment, forecasting, and replenishment.
• Strong communication, organization, negotiation, and follow-through.
• The ability to influence customers, service partners, and internal teams without direct reporting authority.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience using CRM, ERP, customer portals, and retail reporting tools.

Experience with The Home Depot or another big-box retailer is strongly preferred. Experience with live goods, horticulture, seasonal products, or other inventory-sensitive categories is a plus.

A relevant bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred. Candidates must reside within the Southern Division territory, have a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company requirements, and be available for approximately 30–40% travel.
